Well hello… Welcome to Harmony. My name is Amy and I’m such an ordinary woman. The goofiest things make me laugh like my husband’s sense of humor, how much my son’s friends remind me of the cast of the ‘Big Bang Theory’ and even how much looking like me bothers my daughter . I get nervous in crowded elevators, scared of storms and hate getting lost. Just about anything makes me cry. I cry when I’m happy, sad, movies or in awe of something God has done. I don’t think on my feet well. I get a joke a day late and think of the perfect come-back two weeks later.
There’s only one thing that may set the present me from the past me. It is the deep desire God has placed in my heart to know Him, to apply His word in my everyday life and to share Him with others. So actually my one extraordinary trait has nothing to do with me! Because it is only Christ that moves me from ordinary to extraordinary. On my journey down this path, I often stumble and fall, but I’m in love with a God who is faithful to pick me up, dust me off and set me moving forward in the right direction.
I’m married to Mike, the man I fell in love with when I was just 15 years old. We’re both pretty strong-willed, but he makes me laugh every day! My two kids, Anthony and Samantha, are my everything. People who have really known me long will be surprised that I am slowly becoming a dog lover. Roscoe, our Boxer/Great Dane mix has wiggled his way into my heart.
I am committed to being real (truly the “good, bad and the very ugly!) as I share stories of my life from my husband, my kids, my jobs and my church. I’m also passionate about developing messages around God’s Word and digging for practical applications that help transform lives. After all, an ordinary woman has no power at all to change lives… We’ll each look to God and His Word to do that!
God has planted in me a deep passion is women’s ministry. I have been shaped through mentoring by godly women, so I am focused on giving back in the same way. I served as a women’s director for 4 years and currently serve on a ministry team that has taught a women’s Chronological Bible study for several years. I have developed a strong thirst for God’s word and to share it with others. My vision is to communicate God’s word to women in such a way that there is no question in their hearts that (1) they are love (2) they were created with a purpose and (3) that they are called to pass it on. I am honored to share this passion as a bible study teacher and as a speaker. It is one of the great blessings of my life to contribute devotions on this blog.
You can read more of my testimony in these post:
My testimony – This is the short version of how God not only changed my heart but also changed my thoughts.
My Junk Drawer & More junk – In these two post I share the ‘junk’ thoughts and lies I had allowed Satan to put in my head that led to several suicide attempts. Then I rejoice in the night I learned The Truth that changed those lies.
Following are just a few of my more popular post:

God’s Plans are Best – What dreams have you sat aside because someone spoke against them? In this post I challenge the reader to spend a little time revisiting them and see how God wants to use them in a different way.
